Conventional condensate pumps were replaced from the floor and a Backos
pumpless pump was installed in the trusses freeing up valuable floor space.
The existing receiver was mounted in the truss work to provide an increased
fill head in an attempt to prevent the old pumps from cavitation. It did not
work, steam blow through from defective traps overheated the condensate and
the Backos Pumpless Pump provided the best solution.
